Wool Combs by Alvin Ramer

These beautiful handcrafted combs are available in Cherry, Maple, Oak, Ash, Walnut or Elm by Alvin Ramer of Canada. Tines are stainless steel. They are made to order and will take a minimum of 30 days to craft. All combs will now include a tine straightener.
A 10% deposit is required at the time of your order.
How Do I clean my combs???
You may clean the tines with alcohol. The wooden part may be cleaned
with a damp cloth and mild soap.
NOTICE

Mini Combs

NEW AND IMPROVED!!! These combs are now being made with a bit heavier tine which will be less prone to bending under AGRESSIVE combing and will enable you to comb things such as kid mohair and other similar fibers as well as angora, merino, targhee, other fine wools and exotics. These are Two Pitch combs. Each comb weighs approximately 4 to 4.5 ounces (depending on the density of the wood), is 7" long, the tines are 2 3/4" in height and over 2 1/4' Wide.

English Combs

Four Pitch. Suitable for all general wools such as Romney, Corriedale, Mohair, etc. as well as most of the above. These combs are larger and process larger amounts of fibers with each combing. They make the job of blending a breeze. Each Comb weighs about
25 oz. The tine lenghts are 6 1/2", 5 3/4", 5", & 4 1/2".
The overall lenght of the comb is 12" and the tine width is
4 1/2". Weights will vary with wood type.

Dutch Combs

Dutch Combs will process all of the above but have one fixed comb and one comb that you actually comb with. If you have ever contemplated hackles to blend
with you should consider these combs. They are simple to
use this way as you have a nice hackle plus a comb to use.
The Hackle part is two pitch - tines are 4" wide. The lenghts are 5 1/2" & 4 3/4". The comb is a single pitch and the tines are 4" wide and 5 3/4" long.

Super Mini Combs

The Super Mini Combs are two pitch and will process all of the fine fiber that the Mini's do as well as Romney, Corriedale, Mohair, etc.,and will process more fiber faster than the original Mini Combs. Each comb weighs 9.2 ounces, measures 8" long, the tines are 3 1/2" wide and 3 1/2" high. They come in the same beautiful carrying case/stand as the Minis and of course in your choice of wood.
